Advent 2017
Thank you to all those who came out to our first Candlit Mass on Wednesday. A big thank you to the children who led us in the reading and prayers. Well done. This Wednesday at 7pm we will have a Service of Carls and Readings read by our young people Fr John Peter will hear confessions before & during the service. After the service there will be mulled wine, mince pies and goodies for the children in the hall. Please be extra generous with your time.

This Sunday is Gift Sunday please leave any gifts in the Mortuary chapel. Thank you.


Christmas Cards instead of writing cards to parishioners why not write your name and greeting on the tags at back of church & donation to SCIAF and the tag will be put on the tree. Names will be published on the 3rd Sunday of Advent. Names and donations need to be in by THURSDAY.

SCIAF Real Gifts like warm blankets, emergency water supply, a shelter for a family, school books, chickens just to name a few. Contact Catherine McGrath for more information.

“Not on your own at Christmas” is a Community project organised by volunteers which started in 2013. Our aims are to bring local people together who live on their own or are full time carers for someone in the home. Christmas is a special day and no one should spend it alone. If you would like to join us for dinner and friendship, entertainment and some fun, by the 18th December 2017. Transport can be provided. Poinsettias the last couple of years we have asked parishioners if they would like to donate a poinsettia to the chapel for Christmas in memory of loved ones. The response has been marvelous, so we are hoping to do the same this year. If you would like to donate one then please leave at the back of the chapel anytime from Sunday 17th. If you would like to put a name tag on it please feel free. Church open until 4pm Mon - Fri, all day Saturday.

Dementia Group's Christmas Treats
Wed 13th Dec. 2-4pm showing "lt's a Wonderful Life" with festive refreshments & Wed 20th Dec the primary children will be singing carols and light refreshments served.2- 2.40pm in the church hall. All welcome. The group will close on 20th Dec and reopen on Wed Jan 10th 1.00pm

Youth meetings with Archbishop Cushley on the 3 Fridays of Advent in the cathedral hall starting at 7pm. The archbishop is very keen that as many as our 15 to 30 year olds come together to share and develop their faith. Fr Daniel is more than happy to provide transport for those who would like to come along. Speak to him as soon as possible.

Youth Conference (16-30yrs) Fr. Daniel will be attending this from 27-29th Dec. See Fr. Daniel for further details.

Building Fund - Second Collection has been suspend until after Christmas period with the exception of Sunday 10th Jan when there will be a special collection for Justice & Peace.

Welcome to Edie Maria Toft who was baptised last week and congratulations to her parents.

Fr Deighan will visit from Lennoxtown this Saturday to celebrate the 9:30am Mass and hear confessions until 10:30am.

Our joint Choir have changed their meeting evening to a Tuesday from 6 - 7pm. New and former members very welcome. The group have started rehearsing for Advent and Christmas.
