The Rev. Fr. John Deighan was temporary deacon in St Patrick's Kilsyth in 2010.

He was born and grew up in Kirkcaldy, Fife. His home parish is St Marie's, Kirkcaldy. After finishing his secondary education at St Andrew's High School he then attended Edinburgh University to study literature.

Then, after a year doing voluntary work he set off for the Scots College in Rome, where he has been based for the past six years. In May 2011 he was ordained a deacon, and completed his journey to the priesthood in June 2012.

He has previously completed pastoral placements in Falkirk, Edinburgh, Glenrothes, Stirling and Livingston, and St Patrick's Kilsyth June until September 2010.

He is now Parish Priest of Milton of Campsie and Torrance.
