Rev. Anthony Lappin was a visitor to St Patrick's Kilsyth in September 2015 when he was back in Scotland for a brief period between studies at the Pontifical Beda College in Rome on his journey into the priesthood.

Upon leaving St Patrick's Anthony sent this message to the Parish...

"A huge thank you for the very warm welcome and wonderful pastoral placement to the people of St Patrick's Parish, Kilsyth, and to your parish priest, Fr Daniel Doherty. Kilsyth was a very busy placement as a deacon, with a wealth of experience gained - from conducting my first (and second) baptism, to working with children in the local primary school preparing for sacraments, from numerous liturgies to visiting those who are sick and housebound, from engagement with various parish groups to a four-day parish pilgrimage to Ireland.

A great parish, full of kindness and generosity! As I have posted before, it is a great privilege being a deacon in the kingdom of the Lord! I return to Rome this week wonderfully enriched and truly blessed, ready for my final year at the Pontifical Beda College.

Deo gracias, Anthony completed his journey into the priesthood on Friday the 24th June 2016 when he was ordained by His Grace Archbishop Leo Cushley at St Mary's Metropolitan Cathedral in Edinburgh during a double ordination as Rev Jamie McMorrin was also ordained to the Holy Priesthood at the same time.
