Fr. Joseph McIntyre

Joseph McIntyre was born in Bathgate in 1948. He was educated at St Mary's High School Bathgate and Drygrange Seminary. He was ordained in St Mary's Bathgate in 1976 at the age of 32. From there he was to serve as assistant priest at Holy Cross, Trinity in Edinburgh for 4 years from 1976 to 1980. From there he was transferred to St Francis Xavier's Falkirk where he served from 1980 to 1982.

It was from Falkirk that Fr McIntyre was then transferred to St Patrick's Kilsyth in 1982 and he was to serve here as assistant priest to the then Fr, later Canon, Denis O'Connell until 1985. Notably during this time Fr McIntyre was Deacon for the service of final profession of vows of Sister Pauline Dempsey and Sister Brenda Murphy which was held in St Patrick's in April 1984.

From Kilsyth Fr McIntyre was transferred to Kelso in 1985 and ultimately he became Parish Priest of St Alexander's Denny from where he retired in 2009.

Fr McIntyre now lives in retirement in Perthshire.
